Research Programs


Innate Immunity

The central focus of this program is on basic T-cell biology, with applications in vaccine development, and on cellular innate immunity, with applications in antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. The program entails three thematic subgroups: 1) T-cell recognition and cancer therapy (investigation of the basic features of T-cell immunity as it relates to the recognition and elimination of malignant cells); 2) antibody-based cancer therapy (examining factors that govern antibody production and Fc receptor signaling, and developing clinical trials derived from these studies); and 3) natural killer (NK) cell biology and clinical application (studying the development, expansion, functions and target recognition of the body’s NK cells – work that can help develop clinical strategies for enhancing antitumor activity of the innate immune system).Immunology Newsletter
